Studios in Paris and Lisbon

 

Started photo in the sixties, on the basement of his parent’s house....

He was 12.

In the late sixties he had the chance to work with J.Sibelmann a photographer working for several American magazines who took him as lab assistant and later as set assistant , while he was at university, where he studied Physics.

Then, he started working with some well known photographers, going to workshops and seminars, where he had the chance to meet HCB, Sieff, Bourdin, Salgado and others .

Very influenced by them, and also by Ritts, Penn, Avedon and Demarchelier, with a style of his own with simple photos and exploring the mysteries of lights and shadows. The beauty of women and sometimes the ugliness of life...
He has photos published in magazines and exhibits in several galleries around Europe .
In Europe his nudes are best sellers, specially in big format, where they can hit very high prices..

He chooses his models among normal people, but sometimes works with professional models for clients.

He has won several art prices, and some of his pictures are in museums or in private colections.
He has regular exhibitions in N.Y. London, Paris, Brussels, and several of his photos are published in magazines like Photo Revue, Chasseur d'images, American Photographer,Fashion, Marie Claire, Cosmo, NNM, LFI,

Member of the Royal Photographic Society and of the Photographic Society of America .
